Hello LROM Members. I have looked at the situation of the lrom website and wish to report as follows :

Speed
There is a definate sluggish feel to the website now. The network connection is normal. its the server that is overloaded. As high as 70percent is te average, and most of this load comes from the mail servers of the other domains that we share this Windows NT webserver on.
I suspect it is cos of viruses replicating themselves that has affected our webserver but till now the hosting service Emerge Tech has not yel identified if this is the reason.

Size
We bought 40mb at first then in the second year changed that to 70 mb, now we are actually using just over 200mb although we are subscribed for 70.

185mb of that is pictures with over 3000 unique pictures posted by members eversince we started this website coming to 3 years now.

Solution
1. Pay more for hosting
2. Limit the size of posts
3. Move to another server
4. What do you think?

<i>Sat 4 Apr 04 3:30pm - Today the website is still slow and so I called the boss of our hosting service and he says that it is suspected that it is due to the internet provider and they are migrating. So he says give him 2-3 days and once the migration is complete, see if the server response is any better. If what he says is true, then my earlier hypothesis that the viruses were to blame, is wrongly deduced. tee hee hee </i>

See the ping report there? see the /l 512 switch on the first and the default 32 at the second. No difference? What could that mean?
